Telstra Go Smart Repeater Mobile model is based on the Nextivity’s Cel-Fi GO Mobile Phone Repeater and has been tested, authorized and approved by Telstra for use on the Telstra Mobile Network.

 

Telstra Go Smart Repeater is a one box coverage solution for Telstra’s Next G® and 4GX networks operating on 3G 850Mhz or 4G 700/1800MHz bands. It is designed to dramatically boost voice quality and increase data speeds for in vehicle applications.

 

Telstra Go Smart Repeater offers a more flexible installation over other Cel-Fi models due to the abilty to run cables to where the signal is needed most. By not having a wireless link between two boxes GO can operate in areas that are saturated with Wi-Fi.

 

Telstra Cel-Fi Go Smart Repeater Mobile Boat/Caravan Kit 3G/4G/4GX is suitable for boat and caravan applications and includes an Omni Directional Antenna with ratchet mount (folds down) and Coverage Panel Antenna.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE ( for Boat & Caravan users )
Cel-Fi GO will boost a single band at a time (either 3G 850 or 4G 700 or 4G 1800). It is highly recommended to leave the unit in 3G mode to ensure voice calls are received. Voice on 4G (VoLTE) will only work in selected areas and with later model phones.

 

Out to Sea Coverage (from www.telstra.com.au)

Telstra’s 850MHz Next G network can typically extend 20 to 70 km out to sea from mobile base stations located near the coast. However, there are many factors such as the weather, tides, sea conditions and your antenna installation (type and height above sea level) that can significantly influence coverage, data speed and performance. As a result, you must not rely on the Telstra Mobile Network as a primary method of communication at sea.

To assist with your mobile services at sea, you should use a directly connected external antenna – one that is omni-directional or a specialist marine antenna capable of ‘tracking’ to the best serving base station. The antenna should be mounted as high as possible on your vessel using marine-grade cabling and connections.

In order for a service at sea to work effectively, line of sight to the terrestrial base station is required. This is influenced by the height of the serving base station, land based obstructions and the general topography of the land, which can block signals. Coverage will not be reliable over the horizon from a mobile base station even though it may be usable at times.
